Also included are a composition book, 1843-1845, of Justice when he was a student at the University of North Carolina; items regarding Justice, Sparrow, Green, and Tillman family history; and other items belonging to Justice and his family; and records of the Confederate Corps of Engineers at Fort Macon, N.C., April-October 1861, concerning the hiring and quartering of slaves and free blacks who worked on railroad and coastal defenses.
